How we look after your information when you take part in the podcast
This policy explains how we handle your personal information when you take part in Our Lives, Our Stories as a guest. It sits alongside the release form you sign before recording. If anything here isn't clear, please just ask.
Who We Are
Our Lives, Our Stories is produced by Moment Creative Ltd ("we", "us"), and we are responsible for your information. You can reach us any time at hello@ourlives-ourstories.com.
What We Collect
- Your contact details, such as your name and email, and anything you share when you get in touch or book.
- Your recording, the audio and video of your conversation, and the story and contributions you share.
- Your signed release form and the date you signed it.
- Anything you tell us to make your day comfortable, such as access needs or allergies.
How We Use It, and Why
- To arrange and produce your episode, as part of our agreement with you and our interest in making the podcast.
- To publish and promote your episode, with the consent you give in the release form.
- To contact you about your recording and your episode.
- To keep a record of your consent and a copy of your signed release.
Sharing Your Information
To make the podcast, we use trusted service providers who act on our behalf, for things like audio enhancement, transcription, editing, captioning and hosting. We choose reputable providers and, wherever the option exists, use privacy-focused settings. We do not intentionally allow recordings to be used to train third-party AI models where we can control that, and we never sell your information.
When your episode is published it appears on public platforms, including podcast apps, our website, YouTube and social media. From that point it is public, worldwide, and may remain available indefinitely, as set out in your release.
How Long We Keep It
Our Lives, Our Stories is a living archive, so recordings and the stories within them are kept as part of that archive for the long term. We keep your signed release and contact details for as long as we need them to run the podcast and to evidence your consent.
Your Rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, and to raise concerns about how we use it. You can also withdraw your consent for future uses where that is possible. Please note that once an episode has been published and shared widely, we may not be able to remove every copy, but we will always do what we reasonably can. If you are ever unhappy, please contact us, and you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
